A PLAY SPACE is a My Father’s Haus affiliated organization designed to support children’s wellbeing and family connection through the arts.
With wellness-centered arts workshops and programs we facilitate space for communities to grow together through play.
A PLAY SPACE is an arts-centered workshop for elementary-age kids that involves movement and stretching, music, crafts, free art and group activity. It provides a way for children to stay curious and independently led in creative expression while working together toward a common goal. A PLAY SPACE gathers children together for an hour of holistic play and free expression with the goal of bringing families in on the inner world of the kids through take home crafts and creative sharing materials.
What does this involve?
Involves one hour in segments: 10 minutes of warm up movement, dance and stretch. 30 minutes of free art and play with instruments, paint, drawing materials, and child-safe clay. 20 minutes coming together to use creative momentum to build an art piece as a group to showcase to the school and families.
Children get to take home made items (outside of what needs to dry overnight!) and a description of the weekly theme and at-home exercise to share at home.
This is a 6-week segmented program happening between September-May with a final art showing at the end of each 6 week segment.
our mission
A PLAY SPACE works to highlight the creative expression already in children and gives them a chance to let it out while letting families in on the inner world of their children. Kids are given an opportunity to explore, learn, grow, work together, and present their work to a community audience.

Paint & Play
Paint & Play is a themed freeform art workshop for families and youth. Workshops are centered around a community-building theme, and participants are encouraged to create as much and as freely as they would like.
We aired Paint & Play at the 2024 park opening in the Washington District of Long Beach, CA in partnership with the Arts Council of Long Beach. We had several families and local youth in attendance!
