Junie Moody

“Who are you?”

I ask you,

“To tell me who I am?”

You clap your hands when I do right,

You frown when I do wrong.

To put it plain for you to know,

I stick up my nose at them

Who say nice things

When I am near

And laugh when I am gone.

I’m just as tough as any boy,

I’m just as sweet as honey

I wear clean clothes

When I want to,

I’m smart, and kind, and funny.

“That’s not enough”

You say to me,

“You must be more and more!”

I close my ears, and turn my head,

Oh, most of you are dummies!
